The free plan is perfect for getting started and managing a small number of metaobjects. No payment method required.
What's Included

Understanding the Limits
Definition types: Each unique metaobject template counts as one definition. For example, if you create templates for "Blog Authors," "Product Reviews," and "FAQ Items," that's 3 definition types.
Entries per type: For each definition you use, you can create up to 5 individual entries. Once you hit this limit, you won't be able to create new entries for that definition until you upgrade.
When You Hit Your Limit
As you approach or exceed the free plan limits, a banner will appear in the app prompting you to upgrade. The banner shows how close you are to your limit, a button to visit the Plans page, and information about paid plan benefits.
If you've already exceeded your limits and want to stay on the free plan, you'll need to delete some definitions or entries to get back under the limit.

Free Trial
The Pro plan comes with a 14-day free trial so you can try every feature before you're charged.
How It Works
- Open the Plans page in your app
- Click "Start Free Trial" on the Pro plan
- You'll be redirected to confirm the trial on Shopify's billing page
- After confirming, the trial starts immediately
- A banner will appear showing how many days remain in your trial
When Your Trial Ends
When the 14-day trial expires, your subscription automatically converts to the paid plan and you'll be charged according to your billing schedule. The app will remind you several days before the trial ends so there are no surprises.
If you want to cancel the trial before it ends, you can do so from the Plans page at any time without being charged.
How to Upgrade
- Open the Structa app in your Shopify admin
- Navigate to the Plans or Billing link in the app navigation
- Review the plan details and features
- Click "Start Free Trial" to try Pro for 14 days, or "Subscribe" if you've already trialed
- You'll be redirected to Shopify's billing page — review the details and click Confirm
- You'll be redirected back to the app with all premium features unlocked
How to Cancel
- Open the app and navigate to the Plans page
- Find the "Current Status" section
- Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Confirm the cancellation in the dialog that appears
What Happens After Cancellation
- Your account immediately reverts to the free tier
- You retain access to all your metaobject data — nothing is deleted
- Free plan limits (3 definition types, 5 entries per type) will be enforced
- If you're over these limits, you won't be able to create new entries until you delete some
You can resubscribe at any time by returning to the Plans page. Your data is always preserved regardless of plan changes.
Billing Through Shopify
All billing is handled through Shopify's built-in billing system. There's no separate credit card or payment portal to manage.
How It Works
- Charges appear on your regular monthly or annual Shopify bill
- No separate credit card is needed — charges are added to your existing Shopify account
- Pricing may vary by region and billing cycle
Managing Your Payment Method
To update your payment method or view billing details:
- Go to your Shopify admin
- Navigate to Settings → Billing
- Update your payment method as needed
For detailed billing support, contact Shopify support directly from your admin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch between plans?
Yes. You can upgrade to Pro or downgrade to free anytime. Changes take effect immediately.
What happens to my data if I downgrade?
Your metaobject data is never deleted. However, if you downgrade to the free tier, the limits (3 definition types, 5 entries per type) will be enforced. You can't create new entries beyond these limits until you delete some or upgrade again.
Can I get a refund?
Refund policies are determined by Shopify. Contact Shopify support from your admin for refund requests.
Is there a contract or commitment?
No. You can cancel your subscription anytime from the Plans page. There are no long-term contracts.
What payment methods are accepted?
Payment methods are managed by Shopify. Any payment method accepted by Shopify can be used for app subscriptions.
